Cryoprecipitate is a source of fibrinogen. Fibrinogen is vital to blood clotting. To acquire cryoprecipitate, the fresh frozen plasma should be centrifuged and the precipitate should be collected.

- Excessive nosebleeds
- Bruising, especially a large, lumpy bruise

It is usually used in the treatment of patients with reduced levels or poorly functioning, fibrinogen with clinical bleeding, an invasive procedure or trauma.
